At Lake City OB/GYN, our number one priority is your health and safety. Our physicians and midwives prescribe the number of refills necessary to last until your next appointment -- and the maximum time allowable for refills is one year from the date of your appointment. If we give you fewer than 11 refills, you’ll need to complete an appointment for re-evaluation before the one year maximum. Schedule your appointment for prescription refills, and remember that medication prescribing is always at the discretion of your physician or midwife.
However, if you’re unable to schedule another appointment before your prescription runs out, we’ll happily give you a 30-day grace period to submit your refill request through our patient portal.
The following prescriptions and refills cannot be given without an appointment:
- Controlled substances, like narcotics, pain or anxiety medications or anything that requires a DEA number.
- Antibiotics or antifungals, except for urinary tract or yeast infection
- Medications that have exceeded the one-year limit and grace period.
